Sooo…..you have probably heard – Live video MUST be part of your marketing plan.
Hubspot reported that 54% of consumers want to see more video content from a brand or business they support.
Yep. Your customers want to hear more from you. They want to learn about your product and service. They want you to provide value and educate them on your zone of genius. And Live Video is a great way to do that.
Here are 5 reasons that live video should be part of your marketing plan.
Lower Production Cost
It costs nothing to go live from your phone or your computer. You will have a couple of fees – i.e. a data connection, your phone or computer camera. But if you are a business owner, then those are things you have anyway. Sure the videos you make in a professional studio with a professional videoographer are awesome, but guess what? You can do some pretty cool things you can do with Live Video from your phone. Maybe that will be a future blog post!
So when you are recording live video, you know as soon as you are done if your video landed with your audience. You won’t be spending a ton of time planning and in production. Did you get engagement? What were your views and shares? If something didn’t work this week, then try something new next week! It’s a lot easier to make adjustments week to week, than if going to a studio.
Live Engagement & Feedback
I don’t know about you, but when I have people on live with me and interacting, it’s super motivating for me and keeps my energy high. But this could also be de-motivating if no one is on with you and you feel like you are talking into the void. One way to help your engagement – ask a few friends to jump on live with you to comment and start the conversation.
Sales/Product Demos in Real-Time
Some of my favorite things are to watch unboxing of new products or demos of new products. I don’t know why I get excited for that, but I do and I’m sure I’m not alone! I love to see the real (mostly) authentic reaction of the host. It keeps things more fun and exciting!
Live Video shows your “real” side and personality. That is what consumers want to see anyway. If you say the wrong word or have a slip of the tongue, it shows that you are human. It shows that you make mistakes too, but you power through. People love and respond better to authenticity.
One of the biggest insecurities I had to get over with live video was my kids. I used to be so self conscious and embarrassed when my kids would come in while I was recording. Those are the videos that ALWAYS get the best engagement. It’s crazy! I guess people like seeing me as a mom and that interruptions are real life around here. 🙂
