Is Your Content and Social Media Ready For 2022?

Let’s talk about content planning. You know, one of my very favorite topics!

It’s the end of the year so most people are in goal setting mode. Have you set your goals for 2022? Even if you haven’t set them, I’m sure you are thinking about them.

If one of your goals is to get more visible next year or get your message in front of more people, you need a really great content plan!

This week we are chatting all about what it takes to create a great content plan for the new year.

What is a content strategy?

A content strategy is the tool that allows you the freedom to not be tied to your computer hours a day figuring out what to post on social media. It ensures that you are educating your audience and nurturing them, but not super salesy and slimy way. It’s the key to spend less time planning and creating and more time connecting with your customers.

A content plan is a written plan for your marketing strategy. That sounds really boring, but It’s how you map out what you are posting about social media each week. It keeps your marketing consistent and cohesive. You’ll never wonder what you should be posting about each day to connect with your ideal client. Remember, social media is all about connection!

And most of all, it’s a plan of how you are going to share your message – you know the thing you are really, really good at – with a whole lot of people!

“A goal without a plan is just a wish.” If your goal in 2022 is to get your message out to more people, then you need to have a plan. Otherwise, it’s just a wish.

And I want you to have a super successful 2022. I want that message that you are so passionate about and know so well to be shared all across the internet. So will you commit to making a marketing plan for the new year?

Why do I need one?

I want you to think for a minute: what’s the cost of not being on social media?

Really. Think about that.

  • Do you get customers from social media?
  • Does your social media enhance your visibility?
  • Does it educate your audience on who you are and how you can help them?
  • Does it allow you to more easily connect with your ideal client in an authentic way?

If you think that you don’t need to use social media to market your business, I want to tell you about my friend, we’ll call Jane.

She didn’t do any organic marketing. She was doing almost exclusively Facebook Ads. And she is really good at it. She had 1,500 paid customers from ads alone in the first half of the year.

But then ads have been crazy in the last year with all the iOS changes. She stopped running ads because of the algorithms and the cost. She had no organic content or following to sustain her. So she wasn’t having sales come in and it made for a really crappy few months of revenue.

If she had a content plan and was also organically nurturing her audience, she wouldn’t have taken such a hit.

So I want you to really think about this question – If you don’t have a content plan are you really ready to share your message with the world? Or putting all your eggs in one basket – like ads or networking, instead of diversifying your content?

Social media is an amazing tool to sharing your message and getting it in front of more people. Really, really.
